Then the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver attended a week of workshops at the Wharton School and found out how much he needed to learn.

Branch was one of more than 75 current and former NFL players who recently participated in the league's business management and entrepreneurial program held at Wharton and Harvard University.

With the uncertainty surrounding the NFL's collective bargaining agreement and the threat of a work stoppage in 2011, some players thought what better time than now to learn how to correctly handle their finances.
