Randy Ruiz hit a grand slam and the Toronto Blue Jays chased Jeremy Bonderman in the first inning of an 8-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

Bonderman recorded just two outs and was charged with six runs and six hits in the spring training game in Dunedin, Fla.

Jose Bautista connected for a leadoff home run, Ruiz went deep and Travis Snyder hit Bonderman's 36th and last pitch for a sacrifice fly.

Vernon Wells added a two-run home run in the second for Toronto.

For Detroit, Magglio Ordonez and Ryan Strieby connected for consecutive home runs in the first and Johnny Damon had an RBI single in the second.

Blue Jays left-hander Brian Tallet allowed four runs and four hits in two innings.
