The Baltimore Ravens said Sunday their top draft pick, Sergio Kindle, is in stable condition in hospital after injuring his head Thursday night.
The Ravens said Kindle suffered the injury at an Austin, Texas, home. The team said it is believed the 22-year-old fell down two flights of stairs.
"Members of our medical staff, including Bill Tessendorf and Dr. Andy Tucker, have spoken with doctors in Texas. We understand Sergio is stable at this time and that he is being tested and observed," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said in a statement.
The six-foot-three, 250-pound Kindle was selected 43rd overall in the April NFL draft after starring with the Texas Longhorns. Baltimore have targeted Kindle to contribute at linebacker and defensive end.
