Sidney Crosby might have a career in baseball if hockey doesn't pan out.

The Pittsburgh Penguins star and some of his teammates took batting practice at PNC Park on Wednesday afternoon, and Crosby managed to hit a home run at the major-league stadium.

Batting left-handed, Crosby hit one over the right-field wall, which measures 320 feet at the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The homer was greeted with cheers from the group of Penguins players gathered behind the batting cage.

"I grew up playing [baseball]," Crosby told the team's website. "I stopped when I was like 13. I liked it though, it was a lot of fun. It's pretty cool to be out here today."

Video of Crosby's homer is available on YouTube.
