Tony G’s opinions of the French when it comes to poker may have to change if the press release on PokerStrategy.com turns out to be true. According to the website, which has become the location of choice for Full Tilt poker to release information, the French Investment group that has been in talks with Full Tilt Poker has signed an “Acquisition Agreement” that includes the repayment of player funds. However, the press release goes on to say that several conditions must still be met, most importantly a “favorable resolution” with the US Department of Justice concerning the civil case filed on Black Friday –the website itself was not named as a defendant in the criminal case, only Full Tilt poker employees. Tapie has been rumored to be in discussions with Full Tilt for a few weeks now, speculation fueled by Full Tilt Poker attorney Jeff Ifrah who recently told PokerStrategy.com that he had been in France recently overseeing the final stages of negotiations between Full Tilt Poker and a group of “unnamed” French investors. At the time Ifrah claimed that a major sticking point was the status of Full Tilt poker’s AGCC license, which appears to have not been an issue, considering the license was revoked yesterday. According to Full Tilt poker, the revocation of the license was going to make a deal more difficult, but this seems to have not been the case. Associated Press
