While Chris Moorman’s incredible run in 2011 is being looked at as one of the best transitions to live poker from an online poker legend, another online star has also been quietly leaving his mark on the live tournament trail this year, Taylor “ambiguosity” Paur. Paur is currently playing in the EPT San Remo Main Event and managed to end Day 1b of the tournament as the overall chip-leader, bagging up 188,200 chips at the end of the night. This time around the EPT San Remo attracted a field of 837 entrants, making this the second straight year the tournament has seen a marked decline in attendance. Paur had an impressive five cashes at the 2011 WSOP this summer, including a 5th place finish in the $10k 6-Handed NLHE Championship, and recently final tabled the $3,000 NLHE Shootout at the WSOPE in Cannes. With nearly $300,000 in live tournament earnings in 2011 Paur is definitely a player to keep an eye on in the future. A number of big names players will be joining Paur on Day 2 of the tournament, including Vanessa Selbst, Shaun Deeb, recent WSOPE winner Elio Fox, Liv Boeree, Jonathan Duhamel, Kevin MacPhee, Carlos Mortensen, Jennifer Harman, and David Williams. Here is a look at the top 10 chip counts from Day 1b of the 2011 EPT San Remo: 1. Taylor Paur – 188,200 2. Brandon Cantu – 180,000 3. Nick Yunis – 170,600 4. Vanessa Selbst – 164,200 5.
