Harrah's Announces Dates for 2007 World Series of Poker

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. today announced the 38th annual World Series of Poker presented by Milwaukee's Best Light will begin June 1, 2007 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, with the final table of the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship beginning July 17.

A complete schedule of events will be announced before the end of this year.

"The 2006 World Series of Poker was the best yet, but 2007 will be even better," said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. "As a first step, we've moved the start date up and now we're developing an expanded and well-rounded schedule of events for 2007 that will appeal to both professionals and amateurs."

With a total gross prize pool of more than $171 million and in excess of 48,000 player registrations, the 37th annual World Series of Poker presented by Milwaukee's Best Light shattered every participation and prize money record for a live poker event. The top prize for the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship, commonly referred to as the Main Event, reached $12 million.
