Bingos.com has launched a new Swedish version of its online bingo site, to bring to five the total number of countries in which it operates.

The popular online bingo site has existing sites for customers in the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland and Italy.

Bingos.com was bought by London-based NetPlayTV in April 2008 for over 7 million euros, joining Websites such as Casinojoker, Bingofriends and Supercasino in the company stable.

Sweden is seen as one of the more gambler-friendly nations in Europe, with 100 traditional bingo halls already in operation and more than 85% of the population participating in some form of gambling, whether bingo, poker, lotto or other games.

Bingo, which has already filled a community gap in the UK gambling world, for example, might very well succeed in the Scandinavian country, with its Swedish language chat rooms a way to communicate in the cold winter months.

Netplay CEO Dominic Mansour said his company is excited about the new Swedish site.

"The high Internet penetration and propensity to play bingo makes Sweden a key market for us," he said.
