The American Gaming Association is among the many organizations working hard to raise awareness about the gaming industry in the United States.

Established in Washington, DC, in 1995, the AGA represents the industry by dealing with legislative and regulatory issues.

As a company that has committed itself to educating the American public on an often misunderstood topic, the AGA's website is one of the best resources on the net for information and data on the gaming industry.

It offers free fact sheets on gaming-related issues from gaming revenue to pathological gambling to the top 20 US casino markets by annual revenue.

The AGA conducts an annual survey of casino entertainment called "State of the States," which provides data on the economic impact of commercial casinos in the 13 states in which they are located, on racetrack casinos, and on attitudes about gaming among casino county residents.

Responsible Gaming Education Week

From August 2-6 the AGA is hosting Responsible Gaming Education Week, which will give it another opportunity to educate the public about the gaming industry and to counter the damage done by legislation such as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which was implemented on July 1, 2010, and effectively banned online gambling in the US.
