The Ottawa Senators will be without captain Daniel Alfredsson because of an undisclosed injury when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The 38-year-old has three goals and two assists in eight games with Ottawa so far this season. Alfredsson underwent off-season back surgery after missing most of the second half of the 2010-11 campaign. In a corresponding move, the club recalled forward Kaspars Daugavins from Binghamton of the American Hockey League. The 23-year-old Daugavins has four goals and two assists in six games with Binghamton so far this season.
